Interesting day it was…

So, my friend Brandon and I decided to take Elvira- The Paranormal Adventure Machine – to fuel up and empty the tanks, get her cleaned up a bit in preparation for a short ghost town adventure. Seems simple, huh? Ha!

Closed everything up, pulled in the slides, retracted the levelers, backed out of the drive and followed the best rout, according to my GPS. I could never understand why that GPS wants to take me down Hwy 51 every time. Hwy 17 South seems like it would be better as it is only a couple of mile to Love’s, vice the 51 – it’s a few miles shorter.. Anyway….

We get to Love’s, I pay for the diesel and start pumping… I put in about 80 gallons, Brandon takes over while I wash the windshield. A few minutes later, he comes around to the front, soaked from shoulders to knees with diesel fuel. Haha! Elvira burped at the end, and Brandon took the brunt of it. He had a change of clothes in one of the cabinets from a previous adventure, he got cleaned up and changed.

We headed out to empty the tanks at State Trailer RV & Outdoor Supply on 83rd and W Peoria – great place with a free dump station at the rear of the store – the tank was a little over-full, so there was gray water in the bottom of the shower that sloshed around a little. What a mess!

I hooked up the drain hose, black water emptied just fine, but gray water – not so well – oh no! after a little troubleshooting, we found the output of the gray tanks was clogged with stuff someone had put down the drain. Simple fix. I put the non-potable water hone in the output and turned it on… When the gray water stared flowing, I shut the valve, hooked the hose back up and drained over 60 gallons out.

Today, we are going to clean Elvira up on the inside, mop the floors and wipe everything down. Maybe we can start an adventure tomorrow afternoon.
